Butterfly Garden

Creative Accents has issued a challenge to use pastel pink, purple, green, & blue in an paper art piece or card.
Whatever strikes your fancy. This is my 1st piece challenge where I'm going to try to link my blog to theirs. Cross your fingers! Oh, and you can't use anything that didn't come from your LSS. No home business(like SU) or mail order only site.  So  here's the supply list:
All paper is Bazzil Bling
Memory Box Die-Spring Border
Cuttlebug Embossing Die Set-Butterflies
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder-Stylized Flowers
Distress Ink-Broken China,Worn Lipstick,Concord Grape
Rhinestones-1ea in descending size of 4 of 3 colors.
Ribbon-Michael's
Saying-Lockhart Stamps

First you cut the  border, then glue it to the yellow card stock. Put the whole piece in the stylized flower folder and emboss. This is known as embedded embossing. Next cut out the butterflies & emboss them. Rub the matching ink over the top of the embossing. Add rhinestones with the biggest rhinestone at the top. This is to simulate the body. Then fold the wings in half over the body. You are going to put adhesive on only 1 wing. I know you can't see it. My camera is broken so I had to put it in the scanner. But the other wing on each butterfly looks like they're fluttering. Lastly I stamped the saying and added the bow.

Thinking Of You

I made a batch of these as I had a few people to send them to. A uncle of a friend, a nice lady in one of my yahoo groups that needed a RAK, and a girlfriend who lost her beloved companion(cat) of 19yrs.
Supplies:
Inchie Square-Karen Lockhart
Prisma Colored Pencils
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Faded Jeans
All the rest is from SU.
Paper-Pear Pizazz, Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo, & Springtime Vintage
Micro Beads
Oso Sticky Tape
Gold Embossing Powder
Versa Mark Ink
Garden Collage (Retired)
Black Archival Ink
This technique  is not new but can be fun and quick as you don't have to color the color the whole image.
1)Stamp the image on white paper.
2) Sponge Faded Jeans ink around edge of image.
3) Stamp image on inchie or white paper . If paper, pick the size of your square and punch it out.
4)Color you image, apply O'so Sticky Tape, dip in Micro Beads, set aside.
5)Layer main image on vintage paper, then stamp saying in versa mark, dip in powder, and emboss. When cool mount to Baja Breeze, then Pear Pizazz, then to card of Melon Mambo.
6) Mount your square image or inchie aligning it along the edges of the main image as to make the colored part pop.

These Boots .....

I made this ATC for the PWA Annual Retreat. This year's the theme is Round-Up.
Supplies:
Textured Espresso paper (SU)
Pattered paper (Basic Grey)
White scrap paper
Two shades red (Core'dinations Classic red family)
All stamps (The Cats Pajamas) Glitter copper brad
Black ink Rich Cocoa ink & Potter's Clay ink (Memento)
Yellow star rhinestone Red rhinestones
Colored pencils
Scallop oval Spellbinders set #1 & Cuttle Bug
Gold ink ( StazOn)
Sanding block
Hole punch
Dimensionals

I cut the espresso paper to 2 1/2"x3 1/2".
Then I cut the pattered paper to 3 1/4"x 2 1/4".
I inked the edges of pattered paper w/Potter 's Clay .
Next I cut the ovals out of the 2 red papers & emossed them with the same die.
Then I sanded the top of the lighter red all over and the edges of the scallops.
On the darker red I just sanded the scallops along the edges. I was going for a faux 6 layer look instead of just 2 layers.
Using the Cocoa ink I stamped the boot on the lighter red scallop.
On separated paper I stamped the penguin and sentiment.
The sentiment was cut out and inked with Cocoa ink, sponged the top lightly and edged a little darked. Then colored the penguin w/ pencils and cut him out.
Next I inked the scrap paper w/ the gold ink &; stamped the sheriff star with black ink.
Cut the star out. I then layerd the small oval to the larger oval, both ovals to the pattered paper , adhered the whole piece to the espresso paper.
I attached the star and the penguin with dimensionals, adhered the star rhinestone for the spur, the red rhinestone along the top of boot.
Lastly I punched a whole thru the sentiment and ATC & attached the sentiment to the ATC w/ a glitter brad.
